Game 1: Eddie Newton vs Jim Denison
Eddie plays like a complete tool and Jim takes full advantage. 0-2, and 0-1 to the Cricketer's. Nuff said.
Game 2: Bogdan Mihai vs Andy Hadfield
Neither player really shone in this match, but Bogdan held it together well in the final frame to secure a 2-1 win. 1 game all.
Game 3: Steve Blanch vs Tim Knight
Steve even playing at 75% efficiency secures a comfortable 2-0 victory. 2-1 to Fish's flops.
Game 4: Phil Gregory vs Debbie Ferris
Phil manages to grab defeat from the jaws of victory continuing his perfect record of being beaten by ladies. What a gentleman. To be fair, Debbie held it together well, showing a clear head under pressure and deserved the win. 0-2, and 2-2.
Game 5: Mark (ooh you lucky bastard) Midderigh vs Alan Grimsley
Mark gets off to a good start in the first frame, then ends up potting himself into trouble and loses the ensuing mess at the end of the frame.
Mark fails to pot off the break in the second frame and Alan takes advantage clearing all his colours and leaving the black hanging over the pocket (it wouldn't pot).
Mark misses his first pot by about 6 inches and flukes a snooker behind the returning red to avoid a 2-0 defeat. Mark then clears with the 2 shots given by a deliberate foul from Alan.
In the deciding frame, Mark ends up on what looks like a comfortable clearance and then jaws the black in the middle leaving it hanging over the corner pocket for Alan. Alan then somehow manages to find the middle pocket with the white after potting the black to give the game and match to Fish's Flops. 1-2, 3-2.
A messy match overall, but an important victory for Fish's Flops who are still battling relegation.
